Lampling is a service for parents and guardians. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Lampling LLC operates Lampling. If you have any question, email us at hello@lampling.com.

Information we collect

• Your account: your name and email (through our login provider) and your subscription status. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store your full card number.
• Family details you give us: your child's first name, age, pronouns, appearance, interests, and any notes you choose to add, plus details about family members, friends, or pets you add to the story cast. You provide this information as the parent or guardian.
• Optional child writing: if you turn on a feature that lets your child write back (for example, a pen-pal note), we store what is submitted so we can include it in a story.
• Basic usage data: standard logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

We use your information to write and deliver your nightly story, run your account, send you service messages, and keep stories safe and high-quality. To create a story, the details you provide are sent to our story-generation provider. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for behavioral advertising.

Children's privacy

Lampling is designed for parents and guardians, not for children to use on their own. Information about your child is provided by you and is used only to create and deliver the service you asked for. We do not knowingly let children create their own accounts, and we do not use a child's information for advertising. Any optional feature that collects writing from a child is controlled by you, the parent.

As a parent or guardian, you can review, update, or delete your child's information at any time. Email hello@lampling.com and we will help.

Service providers we share with

We share data only with the providers we need to run Lampling, and we require them to protect it:

• Login and account security
• Database and file hosting
• Payment processing
• Email delivery (and text messages, if you turn them on)
• Story-text generation (an AI provider)
• Website analytics (Google Analytics)

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and your family's information at any time, and we will remove it (except anything we must keep for legal or accounting reasons).

Your choices

• Update your family details from inside your account.
• Unsubscribe from nightly story emails using the link in any email, or on the unsubscribe page.
• Request a copy of, or deletion of, your data by emailing hello@lampling.com.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to process payments. For website analytics we use Google Analytics, which helps us understand how families find and use Lampling so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can decline, and the site works exactly the same. We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not run ad retargeting.

If you accept and later change your mind, you can withdraw consent by clearing this site's data in your browser, and the banner will appear again. For how Google handles analytics data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no service can promise perfect security.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, let you know.
